The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key leadership role within the Housekeeping Department, working closely with the Housekeeping Managers to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the department. This position is responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene across guest rooms, suites, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The successful candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about luxury hospitality, with a strong ability to lead, motivate, and support a team while delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily housekeeping operations to ensure all guest rooms, suites, and public areas meet luxury brand standards

  • Conduct thorough room and area inspections, ensuring cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards are consistently achieved

  • Ensure timely completion of cleaning schedules in line with departmental productivity targets

  • Identify and report maintenance issues promptly to ensure swift resolution

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, motivate, and support Housekeeping Attendants to achieve high performance and engagement

  • Assist Housekeeping Managers with daily planning, task allocation, and workflow management

  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and feedback to team members

  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed at all times

  • Support training and compliance with workplace safety regulations and best practices

  • Maintain proper use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment

Quality & Guest Experience

  • Uphold Rosewood brand standards and ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction

  • Respond professionally to guest requests or concerns related to housekeeping

  • Take pride in delivering a polished, welcoming, and luxurious environment

Skills & Experience Required

Essential Requirements

  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service

  • Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a 4–5 star hotel or luxury resort environment

  • Minimum of 18 months’ supervisory experience in a similar role

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Additional Requirements

  • Valid New Zealand work visa

  • Full driver’s licence and reliable personal transport
